This is lovely and made me feel rather nostalgic. We don't get the displays here like we used to and this pic made me feel about 10 again. walking around our city centre and gazing at, what seemed like, huge shopfronts. Nice pic.

Yep. Looks about right. Grey!
Rain will spread from the west bringing with it some showers. This will be followed by a long spell of drizzle which will eventually clear to bring more rain. Welcome to England, we hope you enjoy your stay.
Good idea CMB and good draw.

But isn't this why England is such "a green and pleasant land?" What a COOL draw, Chris!

its chilly right now- had to put the gas fire on ( kept the central heating off cos of the cost!) we are in for a deluge tommorow- the link is updated every hour- weird watching it- as it only shows daylight images so you get a big black gap in the middle of the sequence if you play the vid ( 14 images run into 1)

StGeorgeOfEngland @ Friday, September 5th 2008, 3:09 AM
It won't pass quickly. This is England, we get this a lot. Hehe. Meno is right. It makes us a 'green and pleasant land'. It amazes me to this day how people here always moan about the rain, its not not like we never get any. I ususally say 'if you stopped doing things cos of the weather here then you'd never get anything done at all'.

REECREATIVEDESIGNS @ Thursday, September 4th 2008, 11:02 PM
Now this is really nice the way it is so enlarged and focused to the center of the flower. The bright pink coloring is a nice pop with the yellowed center. I love the contrast of this. Really like the center, it looks so soft and full of cushion.

STARZSHINE @ Thursday, September 4th 2008, 12:13 AM
Snape I really like the theme of this, like the idea of the eyes in the background. It makes for quite an interesting picture and composition.

If I might add a touch of cc, here, hoping to help and by no means trying to dissect.., I like the crispness of the face on your character, it has clean lines and this helps to make the figure's face to stand out, I think the rest of the figure it could maybe use a touch of the same definition. The edges are a bit blurry and are blending in with the background a tad bit too much and you are losing your figure a bit with the background. Partly because the values of the colors in the background are too similar to the kimono top and the same with your purple sash with the black wrap. The edges just need a bit more definition when the color values are so close to one another.. It is a really good composition, and I think some cleaner lines in the sword as well would help make your figure pop a bit more from the background. Unless, I have it all wrong and the figure was sort of supposed to meld into the background, in which case scrap what I said..=(. I am hoping you don't mind the cc, just a few observations I thought might take into consideration..
Christine M B @ Thursday, September 4th 2008, 9:15 AM
good diffuse background!

REECREATIVEDESIGNS @ Thursday, September 4th 2008, 11:00 PM
This is really different and the placement of the fingers is what I find interesting to this drawing. Each one in a different position meeting one another toward the center of the canvas is a nice focal point. Then I really like how that center canvas is lightened. The black frame is classy with these colors.
